Twillingate - Wednesday, July 6, 2005
Although I live in Newfoundland, it doesn't hurt to look at some of your home towns historic sites, and learn a bit about your culture.
First off, we drive ( me and my aunt ) to Twillingate. You see all kinds of veiws and stuff on the way, it's beautiful. Rocky hills, cliffs, the ocean. Once you enter the town, you just feel homey.
There's lots of beds and breakfasts with beautiful sites of the oceans.
We visited Durrell's Museum, and saw the stuffed polar bear they have there, along with old fishing supplies they had long ago.
It's such a quiet place. Most tourists are elderly, or just people wanting to escape hectic city life.
People are really friendly around here. You walk into a store, and they all talk to you, asking you questions, and offering advice, and welcoming you.
If you want to get away, I suggest Twillingate.
