Alta is one of the most beautiful ships in all of Galapagos, ideal for those seeking exclusivity, style and uniqueness. It is very stylish, with exceptional detailing and furnishings, and carries that special charm of a sailing ship. When the conditions are appropriate, the sails will be hoisted and Alta will become one the most striking ships in the Galapagos Islands
Alta provides a first class service and their guests will be the best way to know if this is true. After many comments I have read I will share with you some of the best ones and more significant.
Julie Harvey who traveled in Alta in March 2007 has to say the following, ?the Alta was wonderful. I have been onboard numerous yachts all over the world and the Alta was all that we expected and more. The boat itself has a unique personality, it has that charm that only sailing ships have. The inside lounge is gorgeous and I particularly liked it to rest and catch up on some reading. The top sundeck was great to relax and take in some sun. We felt at one with nature onboard this ship, especially when the sails were hoisted and the engines turned off. On these occasions I seriously felt like one of the travelers that first encountered the islands. Overall, an amazing trip!?
While Gail Hillebrand who was on board Alta during January 2007 says, ?the crew of the Alta made our trip unforgettable! From the captain, who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and funny, to the restaurant staff who was always attentive to our needs, the crew of the Alta would be considered a superb crew anywhere in the world. They made the experience onboard unforgettable. My husband and I loved the snorkeling! We snorkeled on several occasions with green sea turtles, playful sea lions and even penguins. On our visit to Fernandina we had the chance to see marine iguanas feeding. It was amazing! Kayaking was also lots of fun. The clear-bottom kayaks are great so you don?t miss anything of what is going on below the water. It was also a good exercise to burn those calories from the delicious food onboard. The Galapagos Islands offer so much to all styles of travelers that there is definitely something for everyone here. I would love to return again, possibly with a diving certificate to see the underwater Galapagos that we have heard so much about?.
Another interesting comment was from Thomas Loyd who traveled in Alta during November 2006, he has to say, ?My trip onboard the Alta will be a memory that I will take with me until the end of my days. I had never taken a trip of this sort, filled with activities and wildlife encounters. The Galapagos Islands are truly an amazing place. Ecuador is very fortunate to have such a jewel. All the Galapagos Islands are swarming with wildlife and it was amazing to see how unafraid all creatures were of humans. They didn?t seem to mind that we were only a few inches away from them! I have loved sailing ships all of my life and was very glad that I chose the Alta over other ships in the Galapagos Islands. The Alta is a very beautiful schooner. The brass and wood finishing?s give it a very classy look and our entire groups was very happy with the boat. There truly is no other feeling comparable to that of a sailing ship. When the engines were turned off and the sails hoisted I felt like I was in heaven?.
