Night Train to the Czech Republic - Friday, January 15, 1993
[copied from old travel diary]
We're on the night train to the Czech Republic right now. We've gone through the night and the polizei or police stormed our cabin demanding passports, cool! We were lucky and got a cabin of six beds to ourselves. We're going through Germany and the countryside is beautiful. It's a lot like Oregon, but older, and more peaceful.
The police wore green leather jackets!
Oh, Lyon is sort of lame, but I'm getting used to it. The people suck. Old ladies with purple hair will knock you down for a spot on the metro.
There's this thing I call "Club America," which is all the Americans being thrown together as best pals, and everyone knows everything about everyone. It's weird.
Looking up the page I realize that i skipped some stuff. I haven't made any money playing my harmonica yet, I've found a skate park, I've seen one arrest and I've gotten really pissed at the French.
Train's moving again - cool! Oops, we just stopped again, in the middle of a bridge. We stopped hard enough to knock stuff over, and we're only about three hundred yards from when we started moving. It's weird.
The houses here are very cool. Wow, I just made a very loud noise with the window.
