Poplar Hill - Wednesday, July 13, 2005
This summer, visiting Poplar Hill is a very wanting feeling for me.
This is an indian reservation. It's a beautiful place, with great fishing, and outdoorsman type of place.
People are semi- friendly, as they are very aware of who they talk to. They tend to feel the need to keep themselves safe, as well as their families. A lot of the men go hunting and fishing, so don't be surprised if one of them want to invite you for an outing.
They have an old church, and many people in the town are religious, and have old traditions.
It's not the usual place to bring a family. If you're on your own, this is the better place for you. The place is being run down, and they need a lot of help. Lots of stray dogs are running around, looking for food and shelter. It's not the peoples fault, it's just that little places like these aren't always cared for.
Children have no where to go in this town, so they make their own fun by swimming in the lake, and playing baseball.
Although this place is a bit beat up, the people are friendly, and the sites are gorgeous. Nice place to visit for a week or two to get a taste of how some other people live.
