I used to live in Seattle. Now I live in Oregon. As a Seattle ex-resident I know some inside tips that may help...depending on what you like to do.
I went to Bumbershoot again this year. A must do (if you like hostels) is check into the Green Tortoise Hostel on 2nd Ave. downtown.
Tip #1: on Wends. they have a free keg, entertainment and free dinner. And you are close to a lot of bars and other stuff. This summer my shared room cost $35 per night. There is 24 hour access and four free internet capable computers...plus a 'smoking porch' and toilets...
