Five Days and Counting - Friday, May 19, 2006
Now's the time when all the doubts start to creep in. Are all the bookings confirmed? What if something goes wrong? Have I allowed enough money? What if....?
Anyway, my flight leaves at 10.30pm on Wednesday and it's now Friday. I haven't even organised to get Euros yet - although I don't need a lot of cash. There are still those last-minute things to be done and I shall start packing seriously on the weekend. Hairdresser is scheduled for Tuesday and then that's about it.
I need to ring Emirates to make sure I get a vegetarian meal as well as make sure I really am booked on the flight I think I am!
I'm at the stage of excitement and apprehension, just hoping that everything will go smoothly with no glitches along the way. It's a long time since I've done a long-haul flight so I hope it doesn't prove to be too boring. With any luck I can focus on writing and make the time go faster.
